Festival winemakers wanted

For the 3rd Koblenz Wine Festival, we are looking for wine producers who would like to represent the Moselle, Middle Rhine and Ahr wine regions and Weinstadt Koblenz with their wines.

In 2023, the second Koblenz Wine Festival delighted over 25,000 visitors at around 100 events.

Koblenz-Touristik GmbH is celebrating the 3rd Koblenz Wine Festival between May 3 and July 4, 2024.

Wine producers are now being sought to provide the official 2024 festival wines. A selection of ten festival wines from the Terrassenmosel (Cochem Castle area), Middle Rhine, Ahr and Koblenz city regions will be permanently presented in the festival's own mobile vinotheque.

With the Koblenz Wine Festival, Koblenz-Touristik is focusing on "wine and enjoyment" and aims to establish Koblenz as Weinstadt. The aim is to network Koblenz and the neighboring regions for tourism and to market them nationally.

The following wines are being sought to showcase the diversity of the wine-growing regions:

  • Koblenz city area:
    Riesling (semi-dry/fine-dry)
    White Burgundy (dry)
  • Middle Rhine growing region:
    Riesling (fruity sweet)
    Rosé (semi-dry/fine-dry)
  • Terrassenmosel (area "Burg Cochem"):
    Riesling (dry)
    Weiße Burgundersorte (semi-dry / off-dry)
  • Ahr growing region:
    Blanc de Noir (dry)
    Pinot Noir (dry)
  • From the four wine regions mentioned above:
    Secco white (dry)
    De-alcoholized wine

The wine festival is the connecting element between Weinstadt Koblenz and the neighboring regions and integrates a variety of event formats: Once again this year, the highlight event Electronic Wine, a symbiosis of electronic music and wine culture at the top of the Deutsches Eck, will be part of the festival. The popular after-work event Blaue Stunde - Pop Up Weinbar at Rhein-Mosel-Halle will also take place as part of the wine festival. The mobile vinotheque of Koblenz-Touristik GmbH will go on tour, visiting several districts of Koblenz and inviting visitors to enjoy the festival wines accompanied by a musical program. With Wein on the Water, a party including festival wines will be relocated to a Rhine boat. The program also includes guided tours through Koblenz on the topic of Weinstadt, bringing wine to life. The variety of events invites everyone to experience wine culture.

A specially developed smartphone app gives guests of the wine festival the opportunity to choose their "wine of the day" every day and vote for their favorite wine as the "WeinKaiserWein". Here, users can also learn interesting facts to expand their wine knowledge and get to know the wine regions and the participating wineries and festival wines. One of this year's highlights is once again the vote for the "WeinKaiserWein": because with the wide range of delicious wines on offer, the question remains as to which wine is the most popular with visitors and can adorn itself with the title "WeinKaiserWein".

Info: Wine producers can send the specified wines to Koblenz-Touristik GmbH by 15.03.2024 in accordance with the participation requirements.
