The Rheinsteig

The famous Rheinsteig leads along the right bank of the Rhine for a total length of 320 kilometres, taking hikers through forests and meadows, along narrow paths and vineyards from Bonn via Koblenz to Wiesbaden. The white R on a blue background is the best way to recognize the main trail marking. If you see a yellow marking, you are on an access route and already on your way to the Rheinsteig. This trail is perfect for hiking in stages, there are 21 in total, or as a multi-day hike from Koblenz. It is always advisable to take a look at the Rheinsteig website beforehand. Here you will find all the information you need regarding difficulty, trail conditions and points of interest along the way.

Highlight
Rheinsteig: Stage 10
This highlighted stage leads from Koblenz-Ehrenbreitstein to Lahnstein, offering leisurely forest trails that pass through the spectacular Ruppertsklamm gorge near the end. Sure-footedness is required here, but beautiful nature is guaranteed.

The Rheinsteig is one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking trails in Europe. With its 320 kilometres of idyllic landscapes, forests, vineyards, meadows and castles, it is perfect for both ambitious long-distance hikers as well as short-distance hikers.

The RheinBurgenWeg

On the other side of the Rhine, you will find the RheinBurgenWeg. The name says it all, because not only do you always walk along the Rhine—sometimes more, sometimes less directly—but you also have spectacular views of castles and palaces in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Masterpieces of Rhenish architecture from the Middle Ages to the 19th century are close enough to touch. Just like the Rheinsteig, the hiking trail is a long-distance hiking trail and is divided into a total of 14 stages over a length of around 200 kilometres.

Highlight
RheinBurgenWeg: Stage 7
This highlighted stage takes you from Koblenz to Rhens, starting at the Rittersturz, where the Rittersturz Conference took place. This high-level trail takes you past the famous Stolzenfels castle, which is definitely worth a detour. The trail then leads through numerous forests down to Rhens.

The Moselsteig Trail

In 2022, the Moselsteig Trail was once again voted the most beautiful long-distance hiking trail in renowned trekking magazines. Naturally, this raises high expectations for the 24 stages of the 365-kilometre hiking trail. When you think of the Moselle, you probably think of vineyards and Riesling. Of course, there is plenty of this here as well, but did you know that you can also have an alpine experience in the Moselle Valley? If you want, you can also try your hand at numerous via ferratas here, which will enchant even amateur alpinists. The 24th and final stage of the Moselsteig Trail ends in Koblenz. Of course, you can also set off from here and start the Moselsteig Trail adventure in the opposite direction.

Moselsteig
24 Picturesque Stages
The 24 stages take you through picturesque villages, forests and vineyards as well as along the banks of the Moselle. The Moselsteig Trail connects Koblenz with the border town of Perl, 365 kilometres away. This makes it one of the longest long-distance hiking trails in Germany.
