When talking about Germany's most beautiful corners, the Hunsrück should definitely not be forgotten. The Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park - the only national park in Rhineland-Palatinate, by the way - covers an area of 10,000 hectares across the highlands of the Hunsrück.

But you don't have to go that far, because even from Koblenz you can reach many sights in the Hunsrück. Especially for cyclists and hikers the Hunsrück is worth a trip. Adventurous paths await you on the heights, along the rivers and in the lush forests.

On the partially disused railroad line of the Hunsrück Railway stands the Hubertus Viaduct. Spectacular views of this historic bridge can be enjoyed from various hiking trails!

Mörsdorf
Geierlay Suspension Bridge
One of the most famous sights in the region is the Geierlay suspension bridge. This 360-metre-long suspension bridge was built in 2015 and is part of the Saar-Hunsrück Trail.

Baybachklamm Dream Loop Trail
If you are looking for peace and relaxation, the Hunsrück is just the place for you. The numerous hiking trails are varied: forest passages, quiet stream valleys, distant views of the Hunsrück and the Eifel. There used to be 32 mills in the Baybach valley from the source to the mouth near Burgen on the Moselle. you can discover 7 of these old mills on the Baybachklamm dream loop hike.

Loreley Cycling Tour
Between Emmelshausen and Boppard, you cycle partly through the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley and past countless castles and historic villages. This moderately difficult route is approx. 44 km long and can be completed in around 5 hours.

Schinderhannes Cycling Route
The slightly shorter 39 km route takes you to the heights of the Hunsrück between Emmelshausen and Simmern. You can look forward to several historical highlights of the region on this moderately difficult cycle route!

Schinderhannes-Untermosel Cycling Route
Even shorter, but no less beautiful, is the Schinderhannes-Untermosel cycle path. This approx. 22 km long route with views as far as the Eifel takes you from Emmelshausen to Burgen on the Moselle along quiet side roads and through peaceful woodland.
