Geierlay Suspension Bridge

The Geierlay suspension bridge was built in 2015 based on the model of Nepalese suspension rope bridges. With its 100 meters height and 360 meters length, it was even the longest suspension rope bridge in Germany until May 2017. Located in the middle of the Hunsrück, the suspension bridge represents an ideal starting point for a hike. In addition to the circular trail "Geierlayschleife", a hike on one of the two dream loop trails "Masdascher Burgherrenweg" or the "Dünnbach-Pfad" or on the dream loop "Layensteig" is ideal. If you prefer to walk in stages, you can let off steam on stage 19 or 20 of the Saar-Hunsrück Trail!
