The "Kulturstufen" is a series of musical events in public spaces. During the summer months, the castle steps on the banks of the Rhine become a performance venue for regional musicians and music groups of different styles.
With this project, the City of Koblenz's Department of Culture and School Administration aims to culturally revitalise the castle steps, which were built for the 2011 Federal Horticultural Show, and thus enhance their public profile.
During the opening hours of the Ufer-Bar, a concert will take place every Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to around 8:30 p.m.:

Wednesday | 21.08.2024 | Birds Out!
Birds Out!" is an Americana, acoustic rock duo from Koblenz, "who have been attracting attention for several years with their clever songwriting, likeable stage performance and tasteful beer tastings" (according to the musicians' initiative Koblenz Music Live e.V. for the Promenade Concerts 2023). André Rheinbay (voc, git) and Volkart Schneider (git, voc) play self-written songs ranging from pub rockers and sing-along songs to Tom Waits-style ballads ... multi-layered, independent, sometimes sung in several voices, but above all groovy and catchy. As universally music-crazy as the two are, so diverse are the influences they incorporate into their songwriting: Rock and folk, country and blues - Americana in fact - sometimes even a bit of funk, ska or punk flashes out. And that is precisely why the songs of these two colourful birds always have their own line and are at least as recognisable as their obligatory melons.

Wednesday | 18.09.2024 | Tom Alaska
As the son of an organist and a classically trained singer, Tom began his musical training on the piano at the age of seven. At the beginning of his twelfth year, he extended this with classical training on the trumpet in a big band, where he learnt the subtleties of jazz in particular, which are reflected in his Udo Jürgens arrangements today. Tom learnt to sing with the renowned vocal coach Mario Becker in Koblenz, who also provides vocal coaching for the Koblenz City Theatre and the musical singer Kerstin Ibald (who recorded the duet "Alle Macht den Gefühlen" with Udo Jürgens). Tom's love of Udo Jürgens' music began as a young teenager and today, as a seasoned fiftysomething, it is impossible to imagine his life's work without it.
