The Middle Rhine Valley
Characterized by steep slopes covered in vines and impressive rocky outcrops with hilltop castles, the Middle Rhine Valley is still the epitome of Rhine romance today. Ideal terrain for castle lovers. From Koblenz up the Rhine, you can get to know new walls every day: over 40 castles and fortifications tell of an eventful time on the Rhine. It's no wonder that the people who live here only know one answer to the question "Why is it so beautiful on the Rhine?" sung every evening over a glass of wine: "That's why it's so beautiful on the Rhine."

The Moselle valley
The Moselle winds its way through one of Germany's most beautiful river valleys until it reaches its mouth in Koblenz. Passing steep vineyard terraces and picturesque winegrowing villages, architectural and artistic monuments from the most diverse eras, the Moselle flows through a cultural landscape that is over 2,000 years old and in which the Romans have left clear traces.
While the Terrassenmosel is characterized by extremely steep vineyard terraces, the vines on the Middle and Upper Moselle spread out like large carpets on the slopes.
