11. until August 13, 2023 - Koblenz celebrates its summer festival with "Rhine in Flames"!
The spectacular high-altitude fireworks display against the backdrop of Festung Ehrenbreitstein immerses Koblenz and the Middle Rhine Valley in a radiant sea of lights. In addition, the Koblenz Summer Festival with countless artists and live acts transforms the riverside promenades of the Rhine and Moselle into a festival area for the entire weekend.
Year after year, around 150,000 visitors do not miss this event highlight and look forward to the multifaceted Koblenz Summer Festival. The imposing fireworks display at "Rhine in Flames" causes astonishment every year: Under the motto "Our Summer Dream", magnificent fireworks displays take place in the Middle Rhine Valley between Spay, Braubach, Rhens, Stolzenfels and Lahnstein. The end point of the illuminated ship convoy and highlight is the grand final fireworks display in Koblenz.
The three-day Koblenz Summer Festival with free admission forms the framework around the traditional fireworks. For the 9th time, the Koblenz Tourist Board invites visitors to celebrate, enjoy and linger on the festival grounds along the promenades of the Rhine and Moselle. The Koblenz Summer Festival will be celebrated on the festival grounds on the banks of the Rhine and Moselle and around the Deutsche Eck: On 8 event areas, the event partners of Koblenz-Touristik offer a genre and generation-spanning program with live acts by various artists*, the popular fairground and many other cultural offerings.
The musical offerings range from Kölsch rock by the Räubern from Cologne to Schlager with Leslie Frank, Clou Simon & Jörg Augenstein to singer-songwriters like Thilo Distelkamp and Denny Purge. In between, various walking acts and magic shows provide the best entertainment for young and old.
The Pink Area (fairground) on the banks of the Moselle offers fun and entertainment for the whole family with rides and a Ferris wheel.
In the Yellow Area on the banks of the Moselle and in the park at Deutsches Eck, the popular water festival for families will take place in cooperation with ADAC Mittelrhein e.V.. On Saturday and Sunday, children can look forward to face painting, a bouncy castle, a play mobile, a skimboard track and a SUP track.
On the stage of the Gold Area at the Deutsches Eck (Neuwied Musik GmbH in cooperation with RPR1), a colorful music mix of DJs and live bands will be offered on Friday and Saturday. Sunday holds an ecumenical church service in the morning and a family program with magic show and family songs.
The Blue Area (W. Meyer Eventgastronomie) invites you to linger in Wilhelm's beer and wine garden.
In the Orange Area (Erik Lanser GmbH), you can look forward to the regional cover band Vinnie Cooper in the Koblenz Culinarium on Friday. On Saturday evening, Schlager lovers will get their money's worth at the Schlager evening, and on Sunday there will be an early and late pint with the Lindenfels Trio.
In the Silver Area (56Events) you will be welcomed in Augustas Weingärtchen with walking acts and unplugged artists and can watch light illuminations along the trees on the banks of the Rhine at a late hour.
The Green Area (Kohlmeier Catering & Gastronomie GmbH) awaits you in the Pegelhaus summer garden on Friday with chilling sundown beats. On Saturday pop music as well as the best sounds of the 90s and 2000s are on the program. Sunday's motto is Family Day and includes a bouncy castle and a magic show.
In the Red Area on Clemensplatz, interested parties can find out about career opportunities with the Bundeswehr in the pop-up career lounge. Those who wish can also work off a little energy in sporting participation opportunities and compete with other guests at the summer festival in small competitions.

Koblenz-Touristik asks, if at all possible, not to drive your own car into the city center. The number of parking spaces is limited. The arrival and departure by bus and train is much more relaxed. Especially for the Saturday at Rhine in Flames, Deutsche Bahn and koveb have increased their capacities and provide special trains, or additional night trips. After the end of the fireworks, a large rush is expected on the buses and trains that run immediately afterwards. For equalization, the program has been extended until 00.00, many booths are open until 02.00 on Saturday night. Starting at 8:15 p.m., SWR broadcasts the Rhine in Flames from Spay to Koblenz and the Konstanz Seenachtfest in a full-length fireworks show. Starting at 11:00 p.m., the highlights of the great fireworks displays that delight hundreds of thousands of visitors along the Rhine from May to September will be broadcast. Once again, the most beautiful fireworks displays on the Middle Rhine will be brought to life: The journey will lead from Mainz via Bingen/Rüdesheim to Oberwesel, on to St. Goar/St. Goarshausen and end at the largest "Rhine in Flames" event in Koblenz.
